View Sample DrawingA holeless (no jack hole required) configuration, limited up to 2,500# capacity. Wire ropes (cables) are used along with a hydraulic jack to lift the car at a 1 to 2 ratio (for every foot that the jack rises the car rises 2 feet). The jack, rails and sling equipment are mounted either to the side or to the rear of the car depending upon the opening configuration. This design is limited to passenger elevator applications.

  • The travel can be up to 100 feet. Without any jacks in the ground, the risk of oil contamination to the ground is eliminated.
  • No special requirements for pit or overhead sizes.
  • With 1 to 2 roping, the jack length is one half the travel distance and travels at one half the speed of the car. This allows for a low oil flow as well as a low oil requirement.
  • Can easily accommodate a side opening in the car with no side stiles/rails or brace rods in the way.
  • With the sling/rail and jack equipment all located either at the side or the rear of the hoistway, a greater amount of space is required.
  • With all of the equipment, rail brackets, etc., mounted on one of the sidewalls or the rear wall accommodations must be made to allow for extensive rail force on that wall.
  • Greater installation time is required over the traditional borehole application due to the additional equipment involved, such as, safeties, roping, sling, and governor assemblies.
  • Access to the speed governor through the wall of the hoistway requires a rated access panel (2' X 2') by the builder.
