This application is the traditional choice when a side cab opening is required. The rails are located in 2 opposing corners of the hoistway. The jack is located directly under the center of the platform, like the traditional borehole elevator. This design can accommodate both passenger and freight elevator applications and can accommodate most car capacities.
- Same as a traditional borehole car, while allowing for an additional side opening.
- Same as a standard borehole application, the jack is in the ground along with the potential for oil contamination.
- Greater hoistway dimensions are required to accommodate the rails, which are located in 2 opposing corners of the hoistway. Because of the rail bracket locations and sling arrangement, additional equipment costs and increased installation time are incurred.
